Baptized by Thomas R. Condie at Croyden; ordained successively to the offices of Deacon, Teacher, and Elder, the latter ordination taking place Feb 2, 1903.
He filled a mission to the Northern States from 1903 - 1905, laboring in southern Illinois. After returning from his mission he moved from Croyden and resided temporarily in Salt Lake City but moved to Canada in 1908 and located in the Starline Ward, where he acted as the first ward superintendent of the sunday school from 1909 to 1912. He was ordained a High Priest Feb 14, 1912 and a Bishop Aug 18, 1912 by Apostle Orson F. Whitney. Under his able administration the Starline Ward prospered, and he became known as a successful presiding officer, laboring faithfully and true for his Church and his people until he was honorably released in 1929 and chosen as a member of the Lethbridge Stake High Council. He was raised and schooled in Croyden and later communities in which he has resided, and served as school trustee in the Starline district for many years.
